Retrospective Roberto Rossellini
Posters, Title Treatment, Identity Concept
Reflecting on a pillar of neorealism, whose life and work encapsulated the turbulent journey of the 20th century, and propelled cinema into a new era.
The Retrospective, organized by the La Rochelle International Film Festival, focused on bringing audiences back to theaters to experience Rossellini’s masterpieces after they had been digitally restored and improved. The project included designing posters, a visual system for the Rossellini Collection by Coproduction Office, and title treatments for the retrospective trailer.
Animated Posters
The core of my design focused on celebrating Rossellini's influential body of work. I aimed to create a small visual identity that captured the essence of his films while highlighting the technical and artistic improvements from the restorations. The posters were designed to be versatile, working seamlessly in both print and digital formats. For the animated versions, I integrated iconic clips from Rossellini’s films, adding dynamic elements that paid homage to his pioneering storytelling techniques.
The Rossellini Collection is a collaboration between Istituto Luce Cinecittà, CSC - Cineteca Nazionale, Cineteca di Bologna, and Coproduction Office, aimed at enhancing and enriching Roberto Rossellini's key works. The visual system for the Rossellini Collection maintained the Retrospectives aesthetics, with a slightly toned-down approach to suit various promotional materials.
